The Girls First Soccer Game!

Bink and Lexi played in their first soccer game on Sunday. They were so excited and they both had fun, which surprised me. I am really lucky to have such a great support system for my kids. Everyone that could came out to see them play. My Mom, Dad, Paulla, Dylan, Nathaniel, and of course Josh and I were there. Not to mention they are on a team with their two best friends Hannah and Kolton. Here are the highlights from the game!

IMG_1147.JPG

Bianka played goalie for the first half of the game. I was surprised that she asked to be goalie, but she did! She was really good at it too! She blocked 5 or 6 goals and only let 2 through! Not bad for her first time right?

IMG_1140.JPG

Lexi wasn't quite sure what to do at first so she decided to play with her pig tails. At least she looks cute!

IMG_1139.JPG

She took the whole don't use your hands thing to a new level! Haha

IMG_1141.JPG

This is when Lexi decided to get her head in the game and run around like crazy with the other kids. She was so cute. She wasn't sure of herself so she only got to kick the ball a couple of times. She played defense for the majority of the game and tried to block the ball before it got to the goalie. Doesn't she look cute? (Insert AWWWWWW sound)

IMG_1151.JPG IMG_1163.JPG IMG_1168.JPG IMG_1154.JPG

Bianka played forward for the second half of the game. She really impressed me! She got right in there with the other kids and fought for the ball. She really showed her competitive side. This surprised me because in T-Ball she was so scared of being hit by the ball she ran from it every time it came near her! She was so into getting the ball she was even trying to steal it from Hannah and Kolton! We had to remind her that they were on her team, I don't think she was paying any attention to anyone around her, she just wanted the ball!

After the game I made the kids pose for pictures in true soccer mom style!

Well that is it, we get to do it all again every Sunday for the next 8 weeks! I am sure I will have more pictures next week!

Snow Day!

My girls love the snow, me not so much. I am a Florida girl at heart. I don't understand why anyone wants to be cold all the time. I don't get the appeal of big bulky clothes and I don't like any shoes besides flip flops! But this last weekend we took the girls out to play in the snow and we did have a lot of fun. Now I am not saying that I want this slushy white stuff around all the time, but I guess I am convinced that one or two snows a year isn't so bad. The girls were so happy to be sledding and making snow angels that they didn't even realize that they were cold. I guess that could have also been due to the fifteen layers of clothes that they were wearing, who knows!

IMG_1068.JPG

This is the girls getting ready to go outside, do they look bundled enough?

IMG_1071.JPG

This is my Dad helping Lexi on her very first sled ride! She looks a little scared, huh?

IMG_1083.JPG

Molly was right there with us all day. She is so protective. Every time somebody went down the hill she was right next to them!

IMG_1086.JPG

The girls liked riding down together. They figured out that the more weight on the sled the faster you go!

IMG_1091.JPG

Josh joined in on the fun! He is such a big kid. The girls thought it was really cool that Daddy was sledding. Notice Molly is right next to him... psycho dog!

IMG_1095.JPG IMG_1104.JPG

This is the girls making their first snow angels!

IMG_1114.JPG IMG_1119.JPG

When the girls got a little tired we made our way to the shed to warm up with some hot chocolate!

IMG_1131.JPG IMG_1133.JPG IMG_1127.JPG IMG_1132.JPG

We went back outside for a good old fashioned snow ball fight. After all of this the girls were finally tired enough to go inside. Lexi went to sleep about five minutes after she got inside and Bianka and I weren't far behind her!

Bear-E-Chuck, or was it Chuck-A-Bear?

IMG_1014.JPG

The weekend before Christmas break was over we took the kids (along with Rob, Tracie, Hannah, and Kolton) to Build-A-Bear and Chuck-E-Cheese. I know, we must be crazy! It went really well and the kids had oodles of fun. Yes, I said oodles. We started at build a bear which went incredibly smoothly. We got in as a crowd was leaving and just before the next crowd came. Perfect timing really! Anyway all of the kids picked out different animals and made their way to the stuffing station.

If you are not familiar with build a bear I will explain. It is a huge process. First you choose an animal, then you pick out a sound for your animal, then you stuff the animal and give it a heart, then you fluff and brush, then you choose clothes and dress the animal, then you name it, THEN you check out! WHEW!!

IMG_1008.JPG

The kids are at the stuffing station in this picture. They are rubbing their bears' hearts on their foreheads to make them "smart".

IMG_1017.JPG IMG_1015.JPG

This is the "fluff and brush" station.

IMG_1019.JPG

And here is Bianka naming her bear (as well as a nice shot of Josh's butt!). She picked out a Hannah Montana bear (surprise, surprise) and named it Rock Star. Lexi choose a blue sparkle bear (surprise again) and named it Hannah Montana. Hannah picked out a puppy and named it Barky and Kolton picked out a tiger and named him Stripes.

They all were so cute with their build a bears!

Onto the next part!!!

IMG_1026.JPG IMG_1028.JPG

We were then off to Red Robin for a bite to eat the straight to Chuck-E-Cheese! The kids had fun, the parents not so much. There had to be 500 people stuffed into the play area. There wasn't even one table open. I was so nervous that I couldn't see straight!

Well we were already there so we couldn't very well tell the kids it was to busy and leave. Well I guess we could have but I don't think that any of them would have ever talked to us again.

Tracie was the calmest out of all of us. She took her shoes off and jumped right into the tunnels and slides with the kids. I think she just did it to make me look bad. Joking, joking! I never get into the tunnels. Why, you ask? Because some snotty little kid always pushes me or my kids, steps on me, or just plain annoys me. Then this snotty kid proceeds to follow me and my kids around the tunnels and I end up feeling like crap because I don't like an innocent but annoying little kid. Selfish right? Oh well, I am who I am!

Here are some pictures of the kids and Tracie in the tunnels.

IMG_1021.JPG IMG_1020.JPGIMG_1025.JPG

When the kids were done with the tunnels we braved the game area for a short time. If I didn't know it about myself before I know it now. I HATE crowds!!! Anyway, here are some cute shots of the kids playing games.

IMG_1038.JPG IMG_1043.JPG IMG_1050.JPG

And we ended the excursion with a ride on the clock. Weird I know but the kids wanted to do it before we left.

IMG_1062.JPG IMG_1034.JPG

Well that was our day! I would like to say that it was a one time thing, but I know we will probably do it again next Christmas. What can I say? I am a softy!!

New Years Party!

IMG_0907.JPG

Happy New Year!! We had a party at Tracie's last night to ring in 2009. It was the perfect way to celebrate the New Year. Good friends, good food, and some (several bottles of) very good wine! Rob and Tracie always throw the best parties. I have to say that this was the best yet! It was nothing like last year when I was sick on Tracie's couch all night!   (New Years Eve 2007)

In addition to Tracie, Rob, Hannah, and Kolton; Sandy, Chris, and Avery joined us for the party. J.C. also graced us with his presence.

I know, I know. You all want me to stop jabbering and show you some pictures.... your wish is my command!

Tracie with an evil grin as we popped open our first bottle of wine!

This is us fighting over the game Scattergories. This discussion got pretty heated. LOL :o)

IMG_0926.JPG

I think we were boring Chris. Hehehe

IMG_0931.JPG

You can't run and you can't hide.... I WILL eventually get your picture!

(If you didn't know this, Josh hates pictures...... unless they are with the girls.)

IMG_0947.JPG

This is Tracie cleaning up the mess that I made. Somehow my wine glass jumped right out of my hand and hit the wall. Stupid possesed wine glass! I was going to drink that!!

IMG_0949.JPG

I think that this picture was taken at the exact moment that Sandy caught up to Tracie and my wine consumption for the night.

IMG_0952.JPG

This picture speaks for itself. You know that saying a picture is worth a thousand words? Well here you go!

The night is winding down. I can't believe my kids made it this long!

Tracie, on the other hand, did not!

IMG_0988.JPG

She is SO going to kill me!

Well here was my new year, honestly one of the best I can remember. I hope you all had one just as great!! :o)
